Tiki Placemats
These Tiki Placemats will get the kids in a vacation frame of mind as you anticipate the arrival of the big day when you head for warmer weather. We’ve provided a free pattern, but you can also create your own using the same technique. If you would like to make yours a little larger, enlarge the pattern on your copy machine.
Supplies
Blue Card Stock
Yellow Card Stock
Clear Contact Paper
Glue Stick
Pen
Scissors
Instructions
Print Pattern or be creative and make your own pattern. Just start cutting or sketch it out first. Whichever method you choose, fold yellow card stock in half and cut on the fold. Cut squiggly designs in the left over space.
Important: save all pieces including the big piece you cut out of!
Open up the folded card stock and cut in half right down the fold of the big piece. Cut down the fold on the face and any pieces including the nose and mouth. You'll be using one side of each of these pieces to make one placemat. You can use the other side to make a second placemat. Glue one side of the big yellow background piece to the blue card stock lining up the edges. Glue the face to the other side, lining up as shown in the picture. Glue the rest of the pieces in place. Cover with contact paper.
