Easy Heart Shaped Flowers
These Easy Heart Shaped Flowers will be appreciated by friends and family on Valentine’s Day or any day. This variation on the old familiar tissue paper flower makes it especially appropriate for Valentine’s Day. Kids of all ages will enjoy this craft.
Supplies
Tissue Paper. 20″ x 30″ sheets
Paper cutter or scissors
Pipe cleaners, green
Instructions
Cut 20″ x 30″ sheet of tissue into 7.5″ squares with a paper cutter or scissors. You will have some excess, but I found this the most efficient way to make a lot of squares for a classroom. Each flower requires four square sheets.
With four stacked squares, start folding back and forth as you would with a fan.
Continue folding until you reach the end. It’s fine if the folds are irregular, just try to make them fairly even.
Wrap the end of a pipe cleaner around the tissue paper. Twist ends to make secure.
Cut both ends to make them curved as shown.
Open the fan and gently start to pull apart the layers.
Continue separating the layers to make them as “fluffy” as possible.
Pull apart the other side’s layers as well. Adjust to make the flower as full and pretty as possible.
Make an arrangement and display in a recycled jar.
