Lights Off Coloring Page

This Lights Off Coloring Page reminds children that an easy way to participate in conserving energy is to turn the lights off when leaving a room. It’s so simple that people often forget how important it is. If we teach children to do this at an early age it becomes second nature. My cat knows that when I turn the light off, I am leaving that room. See…even cats can learn.

Trivia:

Did you know that two 100-watt incandescent bulbs switched off an extra two hours per day could save you $15 over a year and there is even more saving if you switch to LED? Source: BC Hydro – 21 No-cost ways to save electricity.

Supplies
  • White Paper
  • Crayons, Markers or Colored Pencils
Instructions
  1. Set the kids up in a well lighted area, hopefully in a bright sunny room.
  2. Give them their favorite coloring utensils and talk to them about the things that use electrical energy in your home and how they can help.

It might be fun to make up a chart where they get a star every time they turn the lights off when they leave a room. It may not be a big thing, but if we all did it imagine what a difference it could make.
