Yarn Crosses
Have the kids make Yarn Crosses and hang them up for a decoration or add some yarn for a necklace. This craft is perfect for the Easter season and will make a good Sunday School craft or a craft for Vacation Bible School.
Trivia: No one knows what wood was used to make Jesus cross. The trees that may have been used are Olive or Cedar, both of which are common in the area. The legend of the Dogwood tree is probably inaccurate because of the size of the tree.
Supplies
Multi-colored yarn
Mini Craft Stick
Craft Stick
Low Temp Glue Gun
Tacky Glue
Gemstones
Editor's Note: If you want to have larger crosses, wash and recycle popsicle sticks.
Instructions
To make these Yarn Crosses, hot glue yarn end to one end of the craft stick. (hot glue guns should be used by a responsible adult). Coat the stick lightly with tacky glue. Wrap yarn around the stick covering completely. Trim end. Hot glue end in place. Repeat with a mini craft stick.
Hot glue mini stick across the craft stick to form a cross. Decorate with gemstone.
