Chickpea Bird of Happiness
One of my Twitter friends from the UK created this great afternoon craft project with her daughter, nicknamed Chickpea. After they were finished with the craft, it provided hours of fun playtime.
Supplies
7 Paper Plates
Paints
Paintbrush
Scissors
Tape
Elastic
Newspaper
Instructions
Spread newspaper on the work surface and turn your child loose with a variety of paints colors to cover the top side of the plates. Let them be creative.
Let dry and then cut in half. Snip the rounded edges to give them a feathery look and tape together from underneath. See photos.
Make bands to tape to the underside to slip arms through so they create wings.
Paint a half plate orange and attach a little bit of elastic to fit around the head to represent a beak and your child is ready to soar around as their own bird of happiness.
