Bandanna Covered Journal
Turn a composition notebook into a fashion statement as this Bandanna Covered Journal and start a whole new fashion trend at school.
Supplies
Composition Notebook or any Cardboard Covered Book (Plastic Will Not Work)
Print Bandana
Fabric Glue or Tacky Glue or Low Temp Glue Gun
Liquid Starch
Rhinestones and Jewel-It and Toothpick
Assorted Lace and Rick Rack
Disposable Bowl or Large Zip-Lock Bag
Wax Paper
Instructions
Note: Bandanna will not be totally opaque. Notebook will show through a bit.
Lay out bandanna with the right side down. Open up the composition book and place it face down on top of it. Draw a line around the book. Remove the book and cut your fabric approximately 1" bigger than the line you drew.
Pour about 1 cup of Linit Liquid Starch into a disposable bowl or large zip lock bag. Ball up the bandana and place it in the starch. Make sure fabric is completely saturated. Wring out some of the liquid but leave the fabric fairly wet. Smooth the fabric out, right side down, on wax paper.
Open up the composition notebook and place it, face up, on the bandanna. It will stick to the book. Close it, smoothing out the fabric. Let it dry overnight. Cover may warp a little but should flatten when dry. If not, place a few books on top until it is flat again.
Glue lace all around the edge of the book. Glue rick rack on the middle to decorate. Glue on rhinestones using a toothpick to dab glue in place.
