Print This Craft

Lady bugs bring good luck it is said and this adorable little creature will provide kids with hours of craft fun. You can make a whole colony of them and have lots of good luck.

Trivia:

The name “ladybug” was coined by European farmers who prayed to the Virgin Mary when pests began eating their crops. After ladybugs came and wiped out the invading insects, the farmers named them “beetle of Our Lady.” This eventually was shortened to “lady beetle” and “ladybug.” Source: National Geographic – Ladybug

Supplies

• Red and Green Card Stock
• Scissors
• Glue
• Wiggle Eyes (Optional)
• 1/2 Black Pipe Cleaner

Instructions

1. Print lady bug pattern.
2. Cut around head. Cut on thinner lines to make the loop body.
3. Glue the body into a loop.
4. Fold half a black pipe cleaner in half. Poke up through the middle of the head. Bend into antennae shape. Bend tab on top of head. Glue to loop body.
5. Glue on wiggle eyes.
6. Cut out a leaf shape.
7. Glue the lady bug to the leaf.
