Pattern for beaded Christmas tree ornaments

Show the kids how to make beaded ornaments that will become timeless treasures each Christmas as you decorate the tree. They also make great package decorations for that special person.

Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition as we now know it in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes. Source: History – History of Christmas Trees

Supplies
  • Translucent Green and Red Pony Beads
  • Metallic Gold Pony Beads
  • White Glue
  • 40″ Metallic Gold Cord
Instructions
  1. Cut cord to 40″. Stiffen ends with white glue. Let dry. Fold cord in half. Tie a small knot near the fold to make a small loop.
  2.  Click on printables for beading pattern.
  3.  Begin weaving with the top row. Slide all the beads for that row on one cord. Slide the other cord through the same beads in the opposite direction. Pull tight.
  4.  Continue until ornament is complete. Tie off.
  5.  Dab white glue on the knot. Let dry. Trim.
