Australian Aboriginal Mask Craft

January 26th is Australia Day! Kids learn about Australia as they make their own Australian Aboriginal mask. Aboriginal  artists used dots of color in their paintings. Experiment with this style by using natural colors to decorate printable masks. This would be a fun exercise for Girl Scouts Thinking Day.

There is a Didgeridoo on the Australian Crafts page to go with your mask.

Trivia

Aboriginal Masks were traditionally made from natural materials which included wood, shell, ochre and other pigments; bark-cloth and resin. Source: Sidmartin Bio – Where did aboriginal masks originate?

where can we buy/get aboriginal masks

    1. I would suggest you try googling your inquiry. Not sure where they are available but this should be a resource for pictures at the least.
