Instructions

Print out the buddy paper dolls and the outfit templates you would like to use. You can choose the full color version or the black and white printable templates.

If using the black and white version, color the outfits before cutting them out. It is much easier for little hands to color first and then cut.

Carefully cut out the uniforms and accessories.

Glue the uniforms onto your favorite buddy paper doll.

Talk together about what each community helper does and how they help others every day. This is also a great opportunity to teach children how and when to dial 911 in an emergency.

Encourage imaginative play by creating stories where the buddies work together to solve problems in their town.

Patterns, Templates and Printables

These easy crafts for kids are perfect for home, school, homeschool groups, and community events.

Teacher Friendly Educational Extension

This activity fits perfectly into social studies lessons about communities and citizenship.

Have students:
• Match each uniform to the correct job
• Write a short sentence about how that helper serves the community
• Draw a picture of what they want to be when they grow up
• Create a classroom bulletin board titled “Our Community Helpers”

You can also invite children to share if they know someone who works in one of these professions. This helps build real world connections and appreciation.
