Easter Window Suncatchers
These Easter Window Suncatchers are a cheerful way to decorate for spring. Kids will love choosing bright tissue paper colors and watching the sunlight shine through their finished artwork. This is an easy Easter craft for kids that works well at home, in the classroom, or as a simple holiday activity with family.

Supplies
- Card stock
- Scissors
- Various colors of tissue paper
- Glue
- Transparency paper
- Hole punch
- Baker’s twine
Instructions
- Print the Easter suncatcher patterns your children would like to make.
- Print the patterns on card stock and carefully cut them out.
- Trace each card stock shape onto transparency paper, then cut out the transparency shapes.
- Cut the tissue paper into small triangles in a variety of colors and sizes.
- Arrange the tissue paper pieces on the transparency shapes, slightly overlapping them as you go. Glue each piece in place.
- When the transparency is fully covered, place it onto the matching card stock cutout and glue around the edges to attach it.
- Use a hole punch to make a hole at the top center of each finished suncatcher.
- Thread baker’s twine through the hole and tie it for hanging.
- Hang the suncatchers in a sunny window and enjoy the colorful light shining through.
Tips
Use bright spring colors like yellow, pink, purple, blue, and green for a festive Easter look.
For younger children, you can pre-cut the tissue paper pieces to make the craft easier.
A glue stick can help reduce mess, but liquid glue may hold the tissue paper more firmly.

Instructions
Print the Easter suncatcher patterns that the children want to make.
Print on card stock and cut out. Trace the cutout onto transparency paper then cut the transparencies out.
Cut tissue paper triangles of various sizes and colors. As you arrange them onto each transparency, overlap them. Apply glue to adhere.
Once the cutouts are completely covered with triangles, place each transparency cutout onto the corresponding card stock cutout and glue along the edge to adhere.
Using a hole punch, make a hole at the top center of each suncatcher. Thread baker’s twine through the holes then hang in a sunny window to catch those rays.
