Long Lasting Sand Castles
Long Lasting Sand Castles make this fun summertime activity even more rewarding. Kids creative sand projects can last long after the hot weather has turned cold and even be turned into candles.
Supplies
Sand Molds
3 Cups Hot Water
4 Cups Sand
2 Cups Cornstarch
1 Tblsp plus 1 Tsp Cream of Tartar
Vaseline (optional)
Large Sauce Pan
Large Spoon
Wicks (optional)
Instructions
In a large sauce pan mix cornstarch and cream of tartar. Stir in hot water. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until water is absorbed and mixture is too stiff to stir
Cool mixture until it can be handled.
Use flexible molds for best results, or molds coated with vasoline. You can also scult with your hads.
To make a candle insert a wick and mold around it.
To store the Sand Dough, store in air tight container.
