Nature Weaving
Fall is a great time to explore and Nature Weaving is just the craft to get the kids excited about tramping around the woods looking for the perfect materials for this project.
Supplies
Hemp or string
Glue Dots or hot glue
Stick, leaves and other items from Nature
Instructions
.Find fours sticks or two "y" shaped sticks as we did. Lash ends together
using hemp or string. Tie one end of the hemp to one of the sticks near
a corner.
Wrap around two of the sticks to create the warp. If your
sticks are not straight, it will be easier to use a dab of glue to hold
in place. Tie off at other side. Trim.
Gather leaves, weeds and twigs. Make sure not to pick any poisonous plants and ask which plants you can use. You might not want to disturb nature and use only what has fallen to the ground.
Weave the nature pieces in and out through the warp until you like the look.
Hang your masterpiece on the wall for all to admire.
