Skill Stick Barn
Make your own Barn to house those tiny farm animals that kids love to play with. This is fun to make and even more fun to incorporate into playtime.
Supplies
Skill SticksRed, White and Black Paint and Brush
Craft Glue
Scissors
Cardboard
Instructions
Break the double section off both sides of five craft sticks. Set middles aside. We will be using the end sections for this part of the construction.
For the base, interlock 3 whole skill sticks and 2 of the double end sections. The open middle will be the door. Build 5 interlocking rows like this.
Add 2 more rows using complete sticks.
Add two more sticks across the top in the third slot from each end.
Break a single section off each end from two skill sticks. Interlock one across the front of the barn and one across the back of the barn.
Add two more sticks across the top in the fourth slot from each end.
Use 2 of the middles that were set aside to finish the top. Paint your barn red inside and out. Let dry.
Break a single section off each end from three skill sticks. Paint the sticks white. Let dry. Glue to the front around the door.
Cut a piece of cardboard to fit the roof bending it in two places as shown in photo. Cover with pieces of skill sticks to look like shingles. Paint the roof top black. Let dry. Turn over and paint the inside. Let dry. Glue in place.
