Balloon Bracelet Craft
This Balloon Bracelet Craft is a colorful and creative activity kids can make with simple, affordable supplies. Using balloon animal balloons and flat elastic, kids can design a stretchy bracelet that is bright, fun, and perfect for dress up play, party favors, or classroom activities.

Fun Fact
Long before modern rubber balloons, people used floating lanterns in ancient China to send signals. These lanterns were lifted by heated air and are often considered an early inspiration for balloon-like objects.
Supplies
- Balloons, the long kind used for balloon animals
- Scissors
- 1/4 inch flat elastic
Instructions
- Cut a piece of elastic long enough to fit comfortably around the wrist, leaving extra length for tying.
- Cut the balloons into small pieces about 1 inch long. Make sure both ends of each balloon piece are open.
- Slide one balloon piece onto the elastic and scrunch it down near the end.
- Continue adding balloon pieces until the elastic is covered, leaving enough elastic at both ends to tie the bracelet closed.
- Tie the elastic securely, then trim off any extra.

Craft Tips
Younger children may need help opening the balloon pieces and sliding them onto the elastic.
Try using balloons in school colors, holiday colors, rainbow colors, or favorite team colors.
This easy craft for kids also makes a fun party activity because everyone can create a bracelet with their own color pattern.
Patterns, Templates and Printables
No printable pattern is needed for this craft. Kids can create their own colorful bracelet designs using balloon pieces and elastic.
Teacher Friendly Educational Extension
Turn this craft into a simple pattern lesson. Ask kids to create bracelets using repeating color patterns such as red, blue, red, blue or pink, yellow, green, pink, yellow, green.
For a math connection, have children count how many balloon pieces they used, compare bracelet lengths, or sort balloon pieces by color before crafting.
