Beaded Ghost Craft
This Beaded Ghost Craft is a fun Halloween bead project that kids can make for a backpack clip, key chain, or little decoration. The glow-in-the-dark beads make it extra fun, especially during spooky season. It is a great choice for kids who enjoy bead crafts and simple Halloween crafts.

Supplies
- 2 black pony beads
- 43 glow-in-the-dark pony beads
- 4 feet of satin cord
- 1 lanyard hook or key ring
- Craft glue
- Scissors
Instructions
- Click on the printable ghost bead pattern in the printables section for a row-by-row guide.
- Stiffen both ends of the satin cord with a small amount of craft glue. Let the glue dry completely.
- Fold the cord in half and tie it securely to the lanyard hook or key ring.
- Thread 4 glow-in-the-dark pony beads onto the left cord. Take the right cord and thread it back through the same 4 beads in the opposite direction. Pull both cords evenly so the beads slide up snugly against the knot.
- For the next row, thread 1 glow-in-the-dark pony bead, 1 black pony bead, 1 glow-in-the-dark pony bead, 1 black pony bead, and 1 glow-in-the-dark pony bead onto the left cord. Thread the right cord back through the same row in the opposite direction. Pull both cords tight.
- Continue adding rows the same way, following the printable ghost bead pattern until the ghost shape is complete.
- When you finish the last row, tie a knot in each cord close to the final bead. Add a small dab of craft glue to each knot and let dry.
- Trim the extra cord close to the knots.
Fun Facts
Beads have been used by people for thousands of years. Long ago, beads and bead materials were traded like valuable goods in different parts of the world.
Some of the earliest treasured beads were made from lapis lazuli, a bright blue stone that was carried great distances for trade and jewelry making.

Teacher Friendly Educational Extension
This beaded ghost craft is a fun way to build fine motor skills, pattern recognition, and concentration. Kids can count beads by row, sort beads by color, and talk about symmetry as they build the ghost shape.
For a classroom activity, invite students to design their own Halloween bead patterns after finishing the printable templates. They can create pumpkins, bats, or candy corn using pony beads and graph paper.
