Create beautiful heart prints with this simple Magic Heart Painting Craft.
Equipment
Milk (Homogenized milk works great, but you can experiment with other kinds)
School paints or liquid food coloring
White paper
Toothpick
Disposable pan large enough to hold your paper
Optional: Paper towels for easy cleanup
Instructions
Pour milk into your disposable pan until you have a shallow pool that covers the bottom.
Drop small amounts of paint or a few drops of food coloring onto the surface of the milk. Try one color or several for fun designs.
Use a toothpick to gently swirl the colors together. To create a heart shape, drag the toothpick from the top center of a round color blob straight down through the middle to the bottom.
Carefully lay a piece of white paper flat onto the surface of the design in one smooth motion. Make sure all parts of the paper touch the milk.
Lift the paper straight up to prevent streaking.
Lay the paper flat to dry.
Once dry, use your print to make Valentine cards, gift wrap, or colorful artwork to frame.
Notes
Rinse out the pan between color combinations and try again. Each design will look a little different, which makes this craft extra fun.
