Recycled Scrabble Tile Pin
This Recycled Scrabble Tile Pin is a sweet and simple gift kids can make for Mother’s Day, birthdays, or just because. It is a fun way to reuse old game pieces and turn them into something handmade and special. With just a few supplies, kids can create a pretty pin that spells out LOVE for someone they care about.

Fun Facts
Scrabble has been enjoyed by families for generations. Many schools have even used it as a classroom activity to help kids build spelling and vocabulary skills. That makes this recycled craft a fun mix of creativity and learning.
Supplies
- Scrabble tiles: L, O, V, and E
- Small dried flowers or silk flowers
- Cardboard
- 1/8-inch wide flat cord
- Flat back pin
- Glue
- Scissors
Instructions
- Arrange the Scrabble tiles to spell the word LOVE. Glue them onto a piece of cardboard.
- Carefully trim around the tiles so the cardboard backing does not show.
- Wrap the outside edge with the flat cord, gluing it in place as you go.
- Glue a small sprig of flowers to the back and let it dry fully.
- Attach the flat back pin to the back of the project with glue.
- Let everything dry completely before wearing or giving your pin as a gift.

Patterns, Templates and Printables
This craft does not require a printable template, but you could include a simple backing pattern if you want to make trimming easier for younger children.
Teacher Friendly Educational Extension
This easy craft works well as a recycled art project or a Mother’s Day classroom activity. Students can talk about reusing materials in creative ways and make pins with different words or initials. Teachers can also connect the activity to spelling by having children create simple word projects with extra game tiles.
