Mothers Day Basket
Make Mother’s Day extra special with this sweet handmade basket craft for kids. This easy craft turns simple paper plates into a cheerful basket that can be filled with little treasures, handmade flowers, or a loving note for Mom. It is a fun choice for home, classroom activities, or a Mother’s Day celebration with a group.

Supplies
- Paper plates
- Stapler
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue
- Craft materials for decorations such as paper, felt, foam, or pipe cleaners
Instructions
- Cut the mom figure from one paper plate. Cut her head and arms from one half of the plate, leaving the other half attached as shown in the original example.
- Cut another paper plate in half. This piece will become the front of the basket.
- Color and decorate the mom figure using crayons, markers, colored pencils, or paint.
- Decorate the half plate with a design and write a sweet Mother’s Day note if you like.
- Glue or staple the basket pieces together, leaving the top open so it can hold small gifts or decorations.
- Bring the mom’s hands together and staple them to form a loop.
- Fill the basket with handmade flowers, notes, or other special treasures. Paper, felt, or foam flowers work well, and pipe cleaners can be used for stems.

Follow the photos and cut Mom from one plate. Her head and arms are cut on one half of the plate and the other half is left as is.
Cut another plate in half to make the front of the basket.
Color your Mom using crayons, paint, markers or colored pencils.
Make a design and note on the half plate.
Staple or glue the halves together but leave the top open.
Put Mom\'s hands together and staple.
Fill the basket with whatever you want. Try making some flowers from paper, felt or foam and stick them through the looped arms into the basket. You can use pipe cleaners for the stems.
